Second grade students are prepared during religion classes offered by the parochial school and parish school of religion for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Sacramental preparation takes place in the parish in which the family is registered. Parents attend seminars to facilitate their taking a more active role in preparing their children for God’s loving forgiveness and the reception of Christ in the Eucharist. Candidates for First Eucharist will be presented to the Sunday assembly at a weekend liturgy prior to the celebration of the sacrament.
